What exactly are numbers and why do we need them?
Ask the children to create a large amount of nothing using play dough. Challenge them to fill a whole basket or box with their nothings.
What happened? Did anyone manage to create a nothing out of playdough ?
Is it really nothing ?
Make sure the basket has nothing in it and ask the children of there is anything in it ?
Discuss their ideas.
Is nothing something?
Can something ever be completely empty?
Do we have to see something to know it is there?
Is air something?
Can you ever be doing nothing?
